The
Cincinnati
FM
Club will be installing a new repeater and
controller for the WB8CRS CFMC 146.880 system at Mobilcomm, Mt Holly and NKU. This is the repeater used for Cincinnati Area Skywarn operations. There are very many new features on this repeater, and we were able to see it being operated in the shop using a dummy load, it definitely will run circles around the old repeater. A lot of the equipment was obtained at little or no cost, in fact this repeater was donated by XXXXX XX XX whom no longer had a use for it, apparently we have/are getting new radios for the remote sites also. The "crew" has put in many hours to obtain and get the repeater and new controller operational, so be sure to thank all of them. Of the many great features the main ones that the range may be extended but the interference should be greatly reduced. Support your local CFMC. |
